Campus & Virtual Events

Participating in a campus event lets you reach the greatest number of students.

There are three types of campus and virtual events: presentations, coffee chats, and networking events (known as “Career Fairs” in CareerHub).

Your recruiting relationship manager can work with you to set up a virtual event. All Stanford GSB students use Zoom so it is particularly easy to connect to them using this platform.

Employer Presentations

An employer presentation highlights company culture, values, latest projects, and career opportunities. Students appreciate hearing from GSB alums if possible. These presentations allow you to interact with a targeted group of students and increase your visibility on campus. We encourage employers to host the events on our campus. If that is not possible, we can market a virtual event, though you can expect significantly lower attendance. 

Presentation Request Process:

  • Sign up for an Account in CareerHub (GSB’s jobs and event platform, powered by 12Twenty) using your company name and email address. You will receive an email once your profile is approved.
  • Next, submit a Host an Event request in CareerHub. You will see the box Host an Event on your home screen dashboard. Select the red button labeled + Host.
  • Members of the CMC will reach out to confirm or adjust your date request based on industry or academic conflicts.
  • If the applicable student club agrees to co-host your event with the CMC, your event will be approved. If the student club does not agree to co-host your event, please work with your recruiting relationship manager to find an alternate solution. 

Once your event is approved, the CMC will assist with classroom reservations, catering, and AV/Media requests. The CMC will connect you with the host club to discuss content and marketing. 

  • Afternoon events run from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • Evening events run from 6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
  • There is more flexibility on Wednesday afternoons when MBA1s do not have class.

Coffee Chats

Employers can choose from two types of Coffee Chats: CMC-Managed or Employer-Managed.

  • The CMC-Managed Chats use the CareerHub platform for student sign-ups and scheduling. Employers can view this schedule in CareerHub if they are event owners.
  • The Employer-Managed Chats use an external sign-up link provided by the employer. The employer manages all communication and scheduling with the students. 

Coffee Chat locations can occur in breakout rooms or at the GSB Coupa Cafe tables.

Coffee Chat Request Process:

  • Next, submit a Host an Event request in CareerHub. Select Employer-Managed or CMC-Managed.

Coffee Chats have fewer restrictions and can run for multiple hours throughout the day. Student club approval is not required.

Company Networking Events

We host several networking events each year and market them to students. Each event has unique requirements, so be sure to check with your recruiting relationship manager before registering to Attend a Networking Event.

These events facilitate introductory conversations between multiple organizations and large numbers of students.
