Applying to the Stanford MSx Program
The Stanford MSx Program brings together a diverse cohort of global, experienced leaders from around the world. We do this through a highly selective admissions process which is purposefully designed to build a close-knit community.
Our application cycle is divided into various rounds. You can apply in any round of the cycle, and we encourage you to apply when you feel your application is the best it can be. There is no advantage to applying in any particular round. You can submit only one application per year.* The process is competitive, so it is important to submit your application when your resume, test scores, essays, and recommendations are complete and reflect your best efforts.
*The Stanford MBA and Stanford MSx Programs use a common application portal and applicants to either program may only submit one application per admission cycle. Applicants who would like to apply to both programs may do so in any of the joint application rounds. If you apply to both programs, your application will be reviewed independently by each program. The Stanford MBA Program does not accept the Executive Assessment exam. If you are submitting a joint application to the MBA and MSx Programs, you will need to submit a valid GMAT, GMAT Focus, or GRE score with your application.
Stanford GSB Deferral Policy
If you are offered admission, you are expected to enroll in the MSx program in the year for which you are admitted. We do not allow you to defer admission to a later year. Instead, we ask you to reapply. Only under rare and extraordinary circumstances (e.g., compulsory military service) will we consider exceptions to this policy.
Application Requirements
The application consists of four main components, all of which help us learn about how you think, how you lead, how you see the world, and how you see your future.
