Students with Disabilities

The Stanford Disability Community Space opened in February 2022. Its mission is to allow students with disabilities to find community and feel comfortable exploring their disability identities.

The Office for Inclusion, Belonging and Intergroup Communication engages students and those who work with students in continuous learning and praxis toward social justice, liberation, and a sense of belonging among the diverse members of the Stanford University community.

The Stanford Neurodiversity Project’s goal is to establish a culture that treasures the strengths of neurodiverse individuals and to uncover the strengths of these individuals by utilizing their talents to increase innovation and productivity of the society as a whole.

The mission of the Office of Accessible Education (OAE) is to promote an accessible and inclusive environment for all students with disabilities. Through both academic and housing accommodations, OAE works to mitigate physical and attitudinal barriers that students might face.

The Office of Digital Accessibility works with the Stanford community to explore accessible technology solutions that make it possible for everyone — including individuals with disabilities — to engage and participate in the research, education, and social mission of the university.

With their goal to ensure equal access for the entire Stanford community, the Diversity and Access Office provides technical assistance, training opportunities, and disability-related information regarding assistive technology, transportation, lodging, recreation, community resources, and evacuation and event planning.

The mission of the Stanford Learning Lab is to prepare students to thrive now and into the future through services that identify their individual learning strengths, address their unique goals, and embrace their multiple identities as learners.

Stanford Coordinated Care is a primary care program with a team of medical professionals who help individuals who have chronic or complex illnesses lead healthier lives and better navigate their health care experiences. 

Vaden Health Services is a center for diagnosis and treatment of illness, injury, and ongoing conditions, as well as for preventive counseling and education. Other Vaden services include counseling and wellness resources, pharmacy, physical therapy, insurance, travel clinic, the Confidential Support Team, and the Office of Alcohol Policy and Education (OAPE). 

Counseling and Psychological Services provides an array of mental health services available to students: clinical services, groups and workshops, and options for care outside of CAPS.
