Client Eligibility Criteria

Is an ACT Springboard Session or a consulting project right for your organization?

At this time, ACT considers applications from organizations meeting the following criteria:

  • 501(c)(3) status or operates in the public sector
  • Full-time, paid executive director
  • Minimum annual budget of $250,000

Additional Criteria for Consulting Projects

ACT does not work with organizations that require our volunteers to sign nondisclosure agreements. ACT does, however, require its consultants to sign its own volunteer agreement, which addresses expectations around client confidentiality and conflict of interest.

To help ensure the success of ACT’s engagements, we look for organizations with:

Organizational readiness

  • Strong governance and leadership
  • Not undergoing a leadership transition
  • Track record of financial health

Commitment to the Project

  • A Executive Director or equivalent point of contact
  • Provides necessary information and access to senior staff and key board members
  • Able to meet with consulting team after work hours (as requested)
  • Willing to provide post-project and one-year follow up feedback

Demonstrated Need

  • Consulting request addresses a high-priority strategic challenge facing the organization

While ACT prioritizes nonprofits and social benefit organizations in the SF Bay Area, we encourage applications from nationally and internationally-based organizations. Our ability to successfully staff your project will depend on factors such as alumni availability in your area and/or the ability to run a successful virtual engagement from the Pacific time zone.
