Loretta Gallegos is the project manager for the Initiative for Financial Decision-Making.

Loretta brings 25 years of experience convening diverse stakeholders to advance social change in higher education, philanthropy, the nonprofit sector, and impact investing. As an influential leader, creative program designer, and longtime Bay Area changemaker, Loretta builds opportunities to foster real-world social and environmental impact. She leads and oversees program development, implementation, and evaluation to generate and share knowledge about innovative solutions and best practices at organizations.

Previously, she was the founding staff manager of the Responsible Investing Initiative and project manager for Stanford GSB’s Corporations and Society Initiative. Loretta spent two years creating the GSB’s first social impact research lab, the Golub Capital Social Impact Lab, and seven years at the school’s Center for Social Innovation. During her time with CSI, she designed and managed programs, including the Stanford GSB Impact Fund, to engage students and alumni in the fields of impact funding, responsible business, social ventures, nonprofits, and/or government.

Loretta also spent four years as a grantmaking and program-related investment program officer at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and 11 years as the executive director of Rebuilding Together Peninsula. The breadth of her knowledge and experience spans across sectors and is complemented by board service in the fields of housing, education, renewable energy, and nonprofit leadership development.
