View From The Top is the dean’s premier speaker series where students interview well-respected leaders from around the world who share insights on effective leadership, their personal core values, and lessons learned throughout their career.

As chair and chief executive officer at AMD, Dr. Lisa Su has led the company’s transformation into the industry’s high-performance and adaptive computing leader, helping solve the world’s most important challenges by delivering the next-generation of computing and AI solutions. 

Prior to AMD, Dr. Su served as senior vice president and general manager of Networking and Multimedia at Freescale and spent thirteen years at IBM in engineering and business leadership positions. 

Dr. Su is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a recipient of the Global Semiconductor Association’s Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award and the Grace Hopper Technical Leadership Abie Award. The IEEE recognized her with the highest semiconductor honor, the Robert N. Noyce Medal, and in 2021, Dr. Su was appointed by President Biden to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (“PCAST”). She continues to serve on PCAST, is a member of the board of directors for the Semiconductor Industry Association, a member of the Business Roundtable and is on the Department of Homeland Security’s Artificial Intelligence Safety and Security Board.
